Guard and Dirty Dancing

So, color guard is going well! I miss Corey, but I'm glad that I love Eva just as much. She's pretty much awesome on toast. (Because everything* is better on toast.)

Today we got new silks! What do I have to say about them... just that they're my favorite silks we've ever had! They're indigo with silver strips and green between the silver... they're beautiful. (Don't listen to whoever tells you they're "navy blue", or "purple". Trust me, they're indigo.) I love my lovely lovely lovely silk. : ) (Poor Delaware** will never be exactly the same though...)

Chase came to help us out at practice too! That was a pleasant surprise! I saw him in his show in winter guard with UVU Envision 2010 (he's the first guy to start moving, in the center of the floor), and he was great throughout the season! He's teaching us rifle, and choreographing some parade routine, and some for the fall Styx show! For rifle, we will have our tryouts sometime next week, and we need to be able to do 8 spins by Friday... it shouldn't be too hard, considering I've done that many before (but I was never too good with them back then either). He's pretty much awesome sauce. (NOTE TO SELF: Nickname is "Almost Blonde"... almost...)

Chase keeps telling us where he wants us to do a "sexy face" in the routine... and I fail miserably. Which is a good thing for me, a bad thing for my color guard self... I guess this will be another season to practice facial expressions in the mirror. (Fall... winter... now summer...) : P If that could be my "sexy face" I'd do fine.

Speaking of the fall Styx show... I'M STOKED! It's going to be awesome... we'll be able to go all crazy with our makeup and hair and routine and costume and... just, yeah, awesome. I'm hoping I'll get on rifle line, so that I can be on it for that show. : )

Marching with "Bad Romance", "I Gotta Feeling", and "Patriotic Spectacular" tomorrow, so at this point, I'm really hoping that the WIND WILL GO AWAY! (HINT HINT! HINT HINT! WINK WINK! MOTHER NATURE! HINT HINT! WINK WINK! NUDGE NUDGE!... Work your magic!... Please?) ; )
