My Testimony

In my Spanish class today we were supposed to write about who our hero is and why.  Now, I haven't talked about it in all of the recent madness... but some people must have noticed the whole "DFTBA" thing.  So, I chose John Green.
I've only been a Nerdfighter for probably 14 months or so, now, but it's one of the best choices (is it a choice?) I've ever made.  (I sound very religious right now. X-) )  John Green's books are only a small part of what makes me love him.  Hank Green is another part!  John and Hank Green together are my two favorite people besides my family and friends -- if I ever had the opportunity to meet them, I would be so happy.  They're funny, kind, and intelligent.

They can make a bad day turn right back around because they let me know that there are people who care about things in the world, and that there are people who care about me, and you, and all of the awesome people around.  Not to mention the infallible mission to decrease worldsuck levels (whether it be through charity [The Project for Awesome is a YouTube-wide annual charity event organized by them, and the Nerdfighers are having a real impact on Kiva], making people laugh, or teaching about news in the world and why we should care).
I feel like they've really changed my life.  And Nerdfighteria has too, you know. ;-)
I thoroughly suggest watching them, to all of my fellow nerds.

“…because nerds like us are allowed to be unironically enthusiastic about stuff… Nerds are allowed to love stuff, like jump-up-and-down-in-the-chair-can’t-control-yourself love it. Hank, when people call people nerds, mostly what they’re saying is ‘you like stuff.’ Which is just not a good insult at all. Like, ‘you are too enthusiastic about the miracle of human consciousness’.” -- John Green

(P.S. And in case you've ever wondered, Honey Wine Vinegar is freaking delicious... but that's off the subject, thus the "post script"...)
