What Do You Think?

Washington Post: Guest Voices: Christian compassion requires the truth about harms of homosexuality

Anyone up to discussion?

  1. Well, I'm gonna kinda be pretty blunt, and probably draw on some LDS principles. Sorry if I offend anyone, but, remember, it's your choice to be offended.

I think that "being gay" is a result of life experiences that occur at a younger age. I don't believe that any one is "born gay" rather, it's a choice they make either consciously or sub-consciously. Also, going along with the "Christian" aspect of the article, and going with my beliefs, I believe that we should respect them as human beings and give them the same rights and privileges and try, better yet do, treat them as we treat everyone else. But, I don't believe that we absolutely have to respect their choice, it's their choice, they made it, we live with it but we don't have to agree with it, and that goes along with many other things, mostly with what people say.

So, that's pretty much my "Two-cents" (maybe more) on this topic, and, again, I am sorry if I offended anyone with my opinions, but, that's just it, it's an opinion, and we have to live with others opinions.

  2. I don't understand the quotes around "being gay", but alrighty then... : )

I'd agree that all humans should be respected, but I'd disagree with "I don't believe that we absolutely have to respect their choice, it's their choice, they made it, we have to live with it", just because of this: I've never understood how it affects other people. It's their life, so why do others care? A consensual relationship between two people hurts nobody...

Everyone always seems to bring up about that "Well, I don't want my kids to get their influence!" I don't believe that being gay is exactly, ahem, influenza. And it's not as if LGBT people don't already have their influence on the world. : )
