Shakespeare Day!

Shakespeare Day made me happy. Like, really, really, really happy.

I was completely and totally in love with my outfit. I meant to make my own, but ran out of time once I had guard and my catapult and... well, I just didn't get around to finishing it. So, I borrowed a dress from one of Kenna's Mom's friends. We had to go over to her house and clean so that she would fit Kenna's dress... but it was worth it. She was pretty cool, after all. :) She originally made the dresses for a joke Halloween costume, so she says. It does well for Shakespeare though, apparently, because Mr. Curtis said I had a "Shakespearean aura" (?). Alrighty then.

During geography and English, we had some fun with Shakespearean insults. I found a nice Shakespearean Insult Generator for all of your arguing needs.

"Oh yeah? Well thou art a for-froward bat-sdfkweisdn fureklsdi-eh, thing I can't say!" I think I won that round. (Ha ha, Marissa and Geoff pretty much pwned at insulting)

I kept on holding my breath during duck-duck-goose. My thoughts: No! No! Don't pick me! There's no way I'll be able to get up and run in this dress! Nooo! NOoooooooooooo!! "Duck" YES!

The dress was super comfy, in some magical way. I didn't think it would be. So, as of now, I love that dress. And, also, as of now, I love my itchy-pokey-frustrating-fall-apart garland. And I love Shakespearean insults (even the ones I can't say). And I hate fashion narratives. And I love laughing at Romeo. And I have a love/hate relationship with gumballs. And I love people. And I love tomatoes, but that's getting a little off-topic.

I love you, world!

  2. Well, don't you look pretty? ;) That's an awesome costume.
I've never really liked Elizabethan insults, because quite bluntly, they suck. Are you really going to be insulted if I called you a perfidious ill-bred joithead?

  3. Well... if you said it *seriously* I might be insulted. But I just don't see seriousness coming out at the same time as "thou poisonous plume-plucked flap-dragon!" anytime soon. :)
