Memories! Ah! there's so many!
I remember I loved hearing Purple People Eater play in the halls at school on Halloween in elementary school. And I liked Barney! Yay! Everyone's always criticizing that show... and I haven't seen it in yeeeears, but I definitely remember that I used to really like that Barney movie with that one rainbow egg... and that one where they sing all those songs -- "John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmitt, his name is my name too..." -- So here's to childhood!
I remember I also loved Teletubbies. The baby on the sun always kinda creeped me out. And so did the green Teletubby. But you know what my favorite thing was? The VACUUM!! I freaking loved it. :D
I remember I used to make mud pies. I think I did that this summer too... it was fun. I would always "bake" them on top of the trash can on the side of our house. :D
I remember one Halloween I mixed up a whole bunch of random foods and put them outside in a cottage cheese container for the "ghosts" to eat. Then I was told I had to eat it. I refused. And then I was just banned from mixing the foods in the kitchen together. :)
I remember playing secret agent. Making a tent out of a blanket in my room and making a "desk" out of two 12" tall books (to think I was ever short enough that that was a worthy desk!) and write down all my observations. And I remember one time my Mom and Dad had a visiting teacher guy over and I was playing secret agent... let's just say that I wasn't too happy to hear in my eavesdropping that my behavior was in his prayers. :/ Adults don't seem to have respect for the fact that secret agents have to eavesdrop. It's part of the appeal. :)
And then, I remember I used to always slide down my stairs in laundry baskets - that is when it was still carpet - and we'd put a whole bunch of pillows down at the landing so that we would face plant into them instead of the front door. :) (Aha! Probably the source of a recurring dream...)
And I remember I used to pretend I was a kangaroo and hop around in my pillowcase - holy cow, I was small enough to have a pillow case go to my stomach at some point?? And I would always stuff things in with me, like books and toys... ha ha, I was a very noisy hopping kangaroo.
And I remember more! I remember I used to go to the lazy Susan and get out all of the cans and play the "drums".
And I remember one summer a long time ago I made mud turtles with Sammy - so yeah, a while ago, because it was a while before she moved too, even - and we kept them in a paper bag in my garage. :) We practically had a never emptying pit of mud at the side of my house. :) Sadly, that old mud pit is now an extension of my driveway. :(
I remember I got in a few mud fights with that good ole mud. Throwing mud all over my friends. :) And the mud pit in the BACK of the house is now a patio. :( And I can guess that my parents don't want me turning the flower beds into a giant mud hole. My poor days of mud.
I remember whenever the leaves got crunchy Sammy and I would crush them up and toss them over the side of the porch. We were feeding the fishies. :)
I remember I used to play cops with Sammy on our bikes. We ran red lights. :)
I remember when I was little and I went to the church Halloween party and in the "haunted house" I would always stare at the couches crazily. No sane person leaves a couch away from a wall unless they WANT people to hide behind them. :)
I remember that every year I would try to build a snow fort. And I only accomplished it last year... Sadly, that was only me and my sister that time. :)
I remember at church we would go racing through the downstairs halls on the rolly chair or on the wheelchair. It was so fun. :)
How I miss being a little kid. If I had a wish... okay, 3, because more come before it... I would wish to be 6 again. :)
These are really funny stories!
