Thankfulness

Family: I have lots of it.
Family's like a bowl of mashed potatoes, where everyone takes what they want until there's only the stuff that's starting to get flaky and dry called "my sister". (Just kidding! I love her very much!)
Anyway, I haven't seen a lot of my family in, well, a long time! A long... long... long... long time.
Anne Pedersen married Peder Andersen. Ha! Ha ha!
So, after laughing at my family roots, I am thankful for family!

Friends: Make new friends, keep the old, one is silver, the other is gold.
Ah, friends... they're like... like... like a soup that you get served that has ice cream and asparagus and anchovies and cheese and chocolate and apples and Coca-Cola and dandelions from your neighbor's garden and Elmer's glue and light bulbs and carrots and cat food that is all mixed together in tomato sauce and *tastes good* and *does not kill you*.
:) I love my friends.
So, after comparing my friends to random cat food (ha ha?), I am thankful for my friends!

Sunlight: that magical thing that powers us!
Yes. Powers us. Because although we also have our faithful mitochondria to thank, we must also thank the photosynthesizing plants that we eat and feed the animals that we also eat. Ah, food chains....
So, now, after proving to myself that I actually understand food chains (yay!), I am thankful for sunlight and plants and all that fun fun fun stuff!

Pencil and paper: the inventions that ended stone slabs.
Not only are pencil and paper great for writing and drawing things, they're also great for writing and drawing things!
So, after stating the obvious, I am thankful for modern inventions that may not be too modern but are still very much useful in my life, pencil and paper!
And the poor trees that paper is made of. :(

Language: the class, and, well, the characteristic of humans!
Language class is super duper fun. And having the ability to talk to each other, not only with words, but with motions and gestures and facial expressions, now that's downright awesome.
So, after this double whammy, I am thankful for language!

Modern medicine: yes, that.
Which we, the human civilization, would survive without, but I, the single human, would not.
So, after saying that, I am thankful for modern medicine!

Rights: Somehow needing to be announced as rights to be rights for anything. Gosh, us humans...
Anyway, rights! Women's rights! LGBT rights! Minority rights! Student rights! Animal rights! And all the rights that everything should have because we're all equals!
So, after all the exclamation points, I am thankful for rights! And, also hopeful for rights of more to be recognized!

And I'm just going to stop there, because I could say I am thankful for all the darn things in the world and would die writing this list and who in the world would be thankful for THAT??
So yeah. I'm gonna stop.

Ah! Woodstock! I wanna watch a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!
