Moab

Hi! I've been camping in Moab for four days, and I just realized how nice it really is to have a shower!

I had tons of fun! On the first day I went to Dead Horse Point with my friend Bianca (and wowzers, it's a scary drop off!). It got its name because cowboys used to capture wild horses there because it's cliffs on all sides, and wherever it wasn't cliffs they could easily fence off. And no, horses didn't jump off the sides. Some cowboys just left the horses there and they died of thirst, while they could see the Colorado river 2,000 feet below. (Sad!)

On the second day Bianca and I went to Newspaper rock, which was pretty awesome too. (When I get sent pictures from Bianca, I'll post.) It's a place on the side of a canyon that various Native American tribes over the past years have carved petroglyphs. (Picture I *didn't* take here: http://www.hickerphoto.com/native-petroglyphs-utah-8935-pictures.htm )

And then yesterday my family, Lawrence, and Bianca and her mom went all over Canyonlands, and goodness, it was beautiful. (Hoping I get pictures from there too, but not sure.)

But gosh, home SWEET home!

  1. Welcome back! I've been to Canyonlands (it's awesome), but haven't been to Dead Horse Point. It sounds cool.
