The previous post does not apply any more. Which is why it is missing. (Darn, that was a long post of wasted time). But anyway! Mrs. Ryan is a pretty cool teacher. I like her now.
COLOR GUARD UPDATE! (EXCITED!): I get to do.... wait for it.... wait for it.... RIFLE! (For those of us - okay, you - who don't know, rifle is the wooden guns that color guard people spin.) I'm a bit afraid, because we have our first competition in two weeks and I just barely learned how to do drop-spins on it today.
Thank goodness we aren't doing sabre, that would be painful! I expect bruises from this (I hurt myself already), but apparently with sabre you get line bruises all over you. I can understand why though. You give some girls a dull sword, and wow... Mr. Simpson wouldn't even come near us anymore.
I'm also worried because there is that thing at school that says "no weapons or look alikes". I would assume that a wooden "gun" counts as a "look alike". So I'm going to have to go into the office and be like "HEY! I HAVE A GUN!... For color guard." Well, not really. I don't want to freak anyone out. That's the exact thing I'm trying to avoid, isn't it?
But RIFLE isn't the thing I'm most excited about! It's... wait for it again..... waaaaaait for it..... wait for it! Waaaaaait fooooor iiiittt..... PROGRESS! Yes. Progress. My most exciting thing of the day. As Lise told me, Corey says that next year if she has thirteen girls in color guard that she would have two captains, and I would probably be one of them! :D This is a very good thing, considering Brittany (our current section leader) is supposed to be the best of the team. That's also why I got to do rifle! Corey chose some of the best girls on flag to learn rifle. I was also mistaken for Mleah at a football game, and that's good too! (Josh's words, as told by Corey, "I love how Mleah and Brittany are next to each other and always together in routine." "That's not Mleah, she's at the other end of the field! That's Rachel!" I was happy, to say the least.) AAaaaanyway. I was happy. :)
